Broker/ Owner at Raynor Realty
My name is Skip Raynor and am the owner of Raynor Realty LLC here in Colorado Springs. I have a commercial construction background of 30+ years and had always played around with real estate, whether it was buying and selling or keeping and being a landlord.
After 30 years of the construction industry, being a field superintendant on multi million dollar jobs and supervising sometimes up to 150 employees on one job, I decided to get my Real estate license and become a full time Realtor. I actually finished my last assistant superintendant job in December of 2013 and by March of 2014 was a full time licensed Realtor, Broker associate working for Weichert Realtors.
In Real estate a new agent must work under an employing broker for a minimum of 2 years. This is so a new agent can learn or try to learn all aspects of the job and all the pieces that go into making a Real estate transaction as smooth and professional as possible. One of the most difficult tasks in Real estate is to keep all of the people that are involved with one transaction, all on the same page for approximately 30-45 days on a home purchase or months on a commercial purchase or lease.
In my first year at Weichert Realtors, who are regarded as one of the best Real estate companies in business. I received a certificate of achievement for reaching above standard goals in gross sales commission. 80% of most Realtors in their first year quit or have to quit due to a sales commission job is very hard. I am actually pretty good at what I have decided to do for a living. I am the major bread winner in my home so this was a leap of faith for my wife and I.
I have been with my wife for 35 years and have 3 grown children and 1 grandson who is almost 4. None of my children, ages 30, 27 and 23 live in my home. They all have productive lives and their own homes.
My second year, 2015, in the business I joined the SCCB, Southern Colorado commercial brokers. I am a current member in the SCCB, Pikes Peak Association of Realtors, Realtor services corporation, Pueblo Association of Realtors , The Multiple listing service, National Association of Realtors and I carry Military Relocation Professional designation on my license. I also exceeded the gross sales commission expectation at Weichert.
My third year I was very active in Real estate and had 23 transactions in home sales alone. 25 transactions put an agent in the top producer category. There aren’t many agents that make that happen.
I was happy to do as many as I did. I like what I do. I help people get what is sometimes the biggest purchase in their lives. I also get paid to do that. It is a great feeling when people are thankful for all my help and hard work, there is a lot of work people don’t see or hear.
I am going on 4 years in the business now and I am a brand new business owner, Realtor, both commercial and residential, Apartment owner/ Landlord and property manager. I opened up my own business this January 2018 with my son. We are both very motivated, hard working and honest people. We also like to have fun.
